Mule Race Rules

Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 3:30 P.M.

1. Length of race: ¼ mile, 1320 ft.

2. 3 heats of no more than 7 mules in each heat.

3. 1st and 2nd place winners in each heat will come back for final heat.

4. Final run-off will start 15 minutes after 3rd heat has been completed.

5. One starter by Fair Board.

6. 2 judges at the finish line; Judges decision will be final.

7. Pay-off for each heat: 1st- $50.00 2nd- $30.00 3rd- $20.00

8. Final run-off: 1st- $100.00 2nd- $65.00 3rd- $35.00

9. Grand Prize – $1,000.00 In Memory of Bill & Alberta Boytzun

10. Each entry will receive $50.00 travel fee. All monies will be paid to the owner of the mule, owner will pay rider.

11. First 21 entries to call Fair Board Office at (740) 653-3041 by October 2, 2023 will be accepted for mule races.

12. Any racer that would like to participate in the Open Mule Show on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. must make entry at the Fair Board Office by September 26, 2023 (mailing address: P.O. Box 945, Lancaster, OH 43130).

If you are participating in the Open Mule Show you must purchase an exhibitor ticket for $25.00 plus $3.00 per head.
